Ondrej Kukal
Born in Prague, Ondrej Kukal is violinist, conductor and composer.
He has studied at the Prague Conservatoire and the Prague Academy of Music with J. Vlach and V. Snitil (violin) and with J. Feld and B. Rehor (composition).
From 1985 he was member of the New Vlach Quartet.
Since 1991 he has been the chief conductor of the Southern Bohemia Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra and since 1993 he is also the conductor of the Czech Chamber Orchestra.
Since 1996 O. Kukal conducts the Prague Radio Orchestra and in the same year he became the Konzertmeister of the Prague Chamber Orchestra, which he conducted also in New Yorks Lincoln Center, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and Musikverein in Vienna.
O. Kukal is regulary invited to conduct the best Czech orchestras (Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Brno State Philharmony, etc.).
